So we don't want him booked next week v H&W or he'll miss the televised match up in Cleethorpes.

Rest him next week to be safe. No need to be defensive. Go there and win it - we don't want to risk a replay.

I agree. Downes and AMS, and preferably Wright as well if we can tweak the formation to allow it, should be rested next weekend. I say this fully aware of the Tamworth debacle.

This game is financially very important don't think now is the time to start resting players. I would much rather rest them in a league fixture against a team near the bottom of the league.

Ok - then start all three of them, then we 3-0 or 4-0 up make changes.

We are good enough to go there and win AND rest a few of our regulars at the same time imo, but we must not take the opposition lightly. We took Tamworth lightly and played all 3 of our strikers thinking we were going to walk it, we didn't and it got to the point where we couldn't really change anybody up front because we needed a goal anyway!

That was under Y@tes and Chuckle, it's a bit of an insult to GJ comparing him with those two clowns.

I'd much rather risk it against Havant than end up with knackered/suspended players who go on a run of several games without a win because we didn't rest a couple when we had the chance.

I also agree that it's better to rest 2-3 players against Havant, for example giving Dayton, Asa and Billy a start.

I reckon that the timing of the new signing suggest he will play on Saturday. He' been training with us for a bit and now he has signed. Back 4 on Sat with Downes on the bench perhaps? Can always revert to usual line up if needed. AMS and Wrighty can have half a game each.
What is the position with Dale and Williams? Are they both cup tie?

Agree we should think about resting a few players. I'd go with something like:

Phillips
Vaughan-Dickie-Parslow-McLennan
Storer-Hall-Munns
Waters-Wright-Dayton

Subs: Kitscha/Lovett, Barthram, Downes, Pell, Rowe, AMS, ???

Me three. Waters + Dayton could be scary sight, and for once, not for us.

Dayton has been injured and has not played in months - more likely to be a sub to start with surely ?

Sort of agree Kev but if we are playing 4-4-2/4-4-3 in order to give Downes a rest he needs to start, along with Asa Hall and Billy Waters.

I noticed on Saturday that Bobbie Dale and Jack Deaman were in the stands and Jamal Lawrence is no longer on loan at Oxford City but doubt any are in contention to get on the bench, I think Bobbie is injured and Deaman & Lawrence seem so far down the pecking order that if the money was there im sure they would be paid off.

He has been training with us though, so what better game to throw him in for 45 minutes and see how he does. If he's off the pace, bring him off at half time and mix it up again.

Precisely - great chance to give him a run-out in an easy game. As you say, if he is tiring or struggling take him off and we aren't winning then change at HT and put the game to bed second half.
