CB at least one experienced
LWB
Holding midfielder
2 strikers who can actually score on at least 1 in 3 chances/game
A bit of luck

We need Long to play RB and Blair to move up. Crowley to sign but i fear he has now gone. Vassell to go to USA ,Joseph back to Swansea and two new strikers to come in.
Chances of this happening is remote apart from Crowley leaving along with positive football.

Crowley creates most of our chances….
What’s the point in having more strikers, when the ones we currently have aren’t getting the service to put the ball in the net?andgarod wrote:CB at least one experienced

We do, but we are a very small fish in a very big pond.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:We miss loads of chances.Pie wrote: ↑28 Dec 2021, 17:15What’s the point in having more strikers, when the ones we currently have aren’t getting the service to put the ball in the net?andgarod wrote:CB at least one experienced

We know our budget is probably the smallest in the league, so we aren’t going to get a 20 goals a season striker - unless we discover another Eisa in the lower leagues.
If we can get the ball to the strikers though, then it gives them a chance to put it in the net.
I think we will go for a CB, and with Norton going back, another striker.
Maybe another midfielder, what with Perry done for now.

Ergo we create enough chances
We don’t though. Against Plymouth our strikers had 0 shots, why, because of lack of supply from the midfield.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:Pie wrote: ↑28 Dec 2021, 18:53We do, but we are a very small fish in a very big pond.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote: We miss loads of chances.

Williams was fed the ball 8 yards out but miscontrolled. He, May and Joseph all had shots blocked by defenders. And Plymouth was one game - we had 26 shots against Shrewsbury where Williams hit the bar and forced saves when the goal gaped, and May had chances too. Plymouth was more the exception than the rule, and the two players who have created most of chances (Crowley and Chapman) did not start.Pie wrote: ↑28 Dec 2021, 19:47We don’t though. Williams’ chance should have been buried by Blair - thought he was going to head it in and for some reason left it, and it came to Williams who wasn’t expecting it.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:Williams was fed the ball 8 yards out but miscontrolled. We know Norton is gone, but we will have to see whether Williams or Alfie move on.
Liam Cullen has been mentioned a few times and could be interesting.
I think Kyle Joseph is a decent striker, he scored a good few goals as soon as he arrived and has then made the crowd expect that of him week in week out.
Hopefully he will find form again soon.
I would say we need the following from most important to least.
Central midfielder who is more of a ball winning midfielder.
Striker
CB cover which could also free up Long to cover RB with Blair.
Striker
LB cover for Hussey and to compete for the spot.
A lot will depend on who leaves. Norton will go and I would imagine we would let Williams go if someone came in for him. I also feel as much as Crowley is a decent player at this level would a more defensive midfielder be of more value to us especially now Wright is fit again. We do need full back cover but at the moment it is probably unlikely the budget would stretch that far.
A few weeks ago you would say we didn't need much in January but after the last few matches it suddenly feels like what we bring in may be the difference between us staying up or not.

Remember that Bonds is back. He was our best tackling central midfielder before his injury.
