One of my Grandsons is in his first year at Plymouth Uni and is going to the match tonight along with some of his mates.

Long at RWB, Blair with Wright up behind the lone front man May, by the looks of it...

I would have given Flinders a game.

So, Matty Blair appears to be the out and out furthest forward attacker, with May and Wright behind him. I assume to use his pace to chase around and possibly on the break.

Well, Evans certainly wasn't indecisive then. What he was doing chasing 30 yards out of goal when Blair was there is another matter though.

First time Plymouth get on the break and we concede. Good finish.

Some of the lads are unfortunately far too slow on the ball against the better teams in this division. In tight positions they need to move the ball quickly but always want another touch and to look where to play it.

Come on, Alfie. That's three chances he has had and the only one he had a decent shot from was the hardest.

Halliwell talking utter c!#p about Williams must be unhappy Blair is starting ahead of him up front. "What does that say about what Duff thinks about Williams". They are COMPLETELY different players. Blair can probably do 100m at least 5 seconds quicker than Williams for a start. Williams isn't the player you want playing this type of game away from home.

Agreed. Although Plymouth aren't "fighting" as much as Wombles and giving us more space.

2 down, and we should at least be level. Difference between the two sides has been the finishing - theirs has been two shots right in the corners and ours haven't been.

What a weird game. We've been wasteful, they've been clinical.

We have played far, far worse than that first half and been ahead, let alone level. Blair, very good up front seeming to be interchanging with May...Blair seems to be roaming all over the place to good effect. Boyle and Evans have made a couple of poor mistakes each.

Agreed Shade. Williams doesn’t offer much and I doubt he’ll be with us next season.

Duff must have read the ‘best XI’ thread where people said push Blair up and Long to RB.

Shambolic passing so far this half. Evans, Freestone, Boyle, May, Raglan, Long...think their pegs have gone to sleep at half time. And now we are bringing the passer Colkett on.

That is definitely what happened
Blair has got a good spring in his heels, wins a lot of headers and flick ons.

Shame Blair has gone to RWB. I'd like to see us with a front 3 of May, Lloyd and Blair with Wright behind, Colkett and Sercombe sitting in front of the defence.

179 travelling fans tonight. People saving the time and money for Saturday I guess. We’ll have what, close to four times more fans travelling on Saturday? Three coaches sold as of 2pm before the Wimbledon game.

Grrr. I hope Alfie hasn't returned to the player that needs 20 chances to score a goal.

6 hour round trip to bloody Plymouth for almost certainly a defeat on a Tuesday...yeah, I think most would rather wait for Saturday.

If we come away with nothing from this game the main thing learned is that playing the top teams at this level you have to take your chances. If we’d taken half our chances we’d be in front. We’ve gone back to the red mist syndrome in the opponents area. Just remember, leather won’t go through human flesh!

Shame to have moved the best player on the pitch to RWB. May as well have gone 4 at the back

Indeed. May as well have gone for it. We are 12th with a 10 (now 8) goal difference advantage over Accrington.

Beaten by two very good finishes. At least we gave them a game and could have scored a few ourselves. I'm sure we have run them closer than a lot have recently. On to Saturday.

Oh well. Regulation defeat, exactly the sort if win we would have expected in our play off and promotion pushes.

Are Plymouth the only side to have beat us comfortably twice this season?

Etete is the key, when he plays Alfie steps up.

The first goal was poor by Raglan and Evans not just " a good finish". Where was Long and Wright on the move?
Second goal was a great strike but when the ball was knocked back our players stood still and admired Mayors having a free swing. Dozy play. Rose tinted specs were worn in the dugout last night.
As others have said, Blair was playing well so why move him ? Bonkers.
