For those not listening to the radio comms, Paul Godfrey just said that the club received a very rare apology from the FA last season after the ref failed to send Harry Pell off against us at WR for his terrible challenge of Callum Wright. I remember that was probably the angriest I've seen MD, as to happened almost right in front of him (and the useless 4th official).

Is that the second time Pell has got injured and gone off against us? Seem to remember that he got quite a bad knee injury in his first game for Colchester against us.

Bonds long range passing is excellent.

Good save from Evans. More debatable goal kicking options.

Our left side of defence is looking very weak. Wright and Ramsey pretty quiet too. Evans positive though

Ross Stewart: he’s coming for you.

Pell bottled it.

Pretty awful game with two flashes of quality.

Not a big fan of Freestone, he’s always got an error in him.

May's finish aside this has been dreadful. Don't deserve to be behind though.

Well, Wright got a shove for the second there. Ref has been very inconsistent with the fouls he's given/not given.

Agreed. Can give him a bit of blame for both goals

Change of tactics required for the second half.

Sadly seems to be becoming more of a trend. What the hell he was doing earlier going for a ball that Boyle was challenging his man for, leaving a man completely free where he should have been, God knows, and he appears quite slow to read the game sometimes. Plus the two goals that he could have done better for.

Another game that shows Wright and Ramsey don't work together

No idea what Ramsey offers, there must be something there but he's been so so poor for us.

Are we ever going to stop the trend of conceding goals in quick succession? Seems to happen every week.

Villa players generally don't play well for us. Doyle-Hayes the exception.

Just seen the stats. 11 shots to 3, 60% possession to Accy.

Midfield being by-passed , too many times we just give the ball away -

The tactic was obviously get it forward quick and try to get in behind their slow back line and it has worked a couple of times but we are just gifting them too much possession.

May got absolutely bloody clobbered right in front of the ref then. How has he not given anything?!

Sounds like poor communication, so partly due to Boyle too.

Speaking of whom, in some games the issue has been that Freestone has had to worry about covering for Boyle missing the ball or being outpaced as much as he has the opposition. Williams can deal with that because of his pace but as Freestone is slower I am sure it impacts on where he stands and runs.

The same way Williams makes Boyle look L1 level, replacing Boyle with a faster and more consistent CB would help Freestone be more comfortable.

I find it quite baffling why Matty Pollock is the one being left out recently. Unless he's carrying a knock i would be playing him ahead of Boyle and Raglan on form.

Yeah, he's the only one I'd actually have there right now. Boyle has been shite for a while, Raglan on poor form and Long isn't a CB.

Take the lead away from home and then completely fall apart seems to be our way. It's a shambles, doesn't seem to be any real structure to the team.

Boyle and his man were in front of Freestone, Freestone inexplicably ran to them and still lost the ball which ran out where he should have been. The other instances were nothing to do with Boyle. One was a poor header in the area that hit Lloyd and the other he was just in the wrong position and didn't react quickly enough.

Agree except for Raglan, who has made god knows how many last ditch goal saving blocks in recent games. He's carrying the defence when Pollock isn't playing.

See above posts about defence. As soon as a home side comes at us, or man marks/press our back three they can’t cope.

Raglan in the back three next season will be fine but we need two L1 standard players alongside him.

The dilemma with Pollock is that his pace and mobility is barely any better than Boyle’s.
