Not many present were old enough to have seen Joe play. Nevertheless it was good that our club invited him to the game and feature his achievements over many years of service. I remember him best as a fearless, muddy warrior-like centre half and those sliding tackles! Thank you Joe for great performances and lasting memories.

I spoke to Joe after the game and he was very happy to chat about the old team and enjoyed the occasion, he told me Bill Gourlay was one of his favourite players and didn`t know he`d passed on.

Thanks you guys, for bringing us back to what was, perhaps, arguably, the beginnings of the current success. For me, it was just great to see Dave Lewis and John Murphy together the other week in a photo. Now that was a team too... Greatest achievement this season, but a solid heritage behind that...
