Don’t go Mickey. You have unfinished business here and you and Wade are building something good.

This was always my fear. Despite the clamour from the disgruntled ‘glory hunters’ earlier in the season - following the FA Cup exit and a few defeats to Teams in/around the bottom 6 - for the heads of our Management Team, our group of hard working professionals have understandably caught the eye of suitors elsewhere.

I hope Micky stays. But how long before someone is also knocking on Wade’s door? Keeping a Club with a very small player budget in League 1, is a somewhat enviable achievement. The biggest risk to losing one or both is their awareness of player salaries and what it would take to prize away some of our best assets.

Half the fanbase would be happy if he went, judging by the "our recruitment has been poor/rubbish" comments throughout the season...

Same as October, hopefully he will stay. The more stable we are the better.

We wouldn’t have Keena without Moore. Did he get May as well?

Oh god why do I feel this is the start of our top talent being poached, Mickey first then Alfie sooner rather than later I'm sure.

Hopefully he’ll realise that we are just as big as Shrewsbury and tell them to ‘do one’, like he did to them Vegan oiks up on t’hill.

Yes. Micky started just before MD, and Alfie came in under MD.

Correct Alfie May (one of our greatest ever players) was brought in by Mickey Moore.

In my experience, employees who are happy to see how green the fields are elsewhere are looking to get away sooner or later

Also SC screws us over MD and now after MM, his shine is becoming a bit tarnished for me

This won't be SC's decision, Mickey would effectively be his boss in this case. In fact I can't imagine Cotts being happy about this myself especially given the good job he's done at Shrews.

Hope he doesn't go but Shrewsbury are a bigger club and judging by their spending last summer, they have more money to attract players than we do.

Sorry, but they are bigger than us. 25% higher attendances than us, Bigger modern stadium, bigger budget and at one point this season they were flirting with play offs.
With the league potentially being slightly weaker next season, they may be pushing for play offs again. Hence why they are looking for a good director of football

I meant it as a joke as in PJ used to be in his position sort of.

I find it incredible that I'm still seeing people questioning MM's record (mostly on Twitter and FB as per).

He's assembled teams that have improved our final league position year-on-year up until this season, including a title-winning team and a team that achieved our highest ever finish.

You can pick apart each individual signing as much as you want, but collectively this past 3 years or so we've had arguably the best squads we've ever had.

Add the Radio Glos rant man to the list of delusionals.

" performances not good enough, recruitment not good enough..."

Yawn.

You’d be correct, SC will be leaving us on Monday.

If I was Moore I’d stay at Cheltenham we’ve lost 2 directors, the CEO and the manager in the space of 3 months.

Ive seen a thread on there of which they made a case with how many appearances mickys signings have made for us,with apparently only 4 or 5 making over 50 starts for us.
I assume then that players who make under 50 starts for are have been useless signings.......like(off the top of my head)

Southwood/Griffiths.
Ferry
Greaves
Taylor
Pollock
Jackson
Doyle-Hayes
Azaz
Crowley
Etete
Keena.

Alot of our better signings are going to be under 50 apps because they're season long loans from higher clubs. The only exception being callum wright who came back for another stint and ended on just over 50 I think.

You’d like to think the last thing that the board of directors and Wade Elliott want right now is for Micky Moore to say goodbye in the next few weeks.
No doubt negotiations have just started with the out of contract players we want to keep, players on contract that we want to move on, players under contract that we’d like to offer extensions to, and of course new players that we’d identified and would like to sign.
It’ll be a right dogs dinner if he took up the Shrews offer, but there seems to be plenty going on there. https://www.shrewsburytown.com/news/202 ... -caldwell/

SC not a happy bunny and understandably so. Seems he knew nothing about MM

Blimey...hard to work out if they were being relegated or if someone had died. Quite clearly a farewell speech - he's either knows his position is being made untenable and so will have to resign, or he's going to be sacked.

No thanks. We need someone who can do that job, SC is a great motivator and worked wonders at multiple clubs but if you look at a director of football that's not him.

Yes, I agree. I said with tongue firmly in cheek, but stranger things have happened in football!
