Can see why Duff left, queue rebrand to Barnsley Raiders or Tigers or some other franchise nonsense

It's a throwback to their 89/90 kit.

Seems so random. Are US MOBILE a thing in the UK? Do Barnsley get enough attention in the US to warrant their sponsorship? Either way, the shirt, in my opinion, looks absolutely stupid, whether it's a nod to the past or not. I don't know if their away shirt will be a similar theme, but I expect when they come to WR to hear a few of their players shouting "HIKE" and them trying to bring a specialist free-kick taker on for 1 minute at a time (not that they needed to last time they visited...).

This was US Mobile’s blog about it when they took over sponsorship last season:

Barnsley are half owned by NewCity Capital, a private investment firm. I wonder if NewCity also have an interest in US Mobile?

Makes more sense...kind of
Seen the away shirt now, just a white version of the same thing. Also seen plenty of people on twitter, including Barnsley fans, saying it's rubbish and that the shirt it's modelled on was the previous worst they'd ever had. It seems not a single person likes it.

Barnsley supporting mate of mine isn't a fan - his 12 year old son loves it though.

I don't like personally, but at least it's a bit different and not just a template like so many kits these days. Wouldn't be shelling out for it if I were a Barnsley fan though!

Once in a while it is nice to see something different. It's not to bad. Won't help them without Duffy though. Some fans seem to like the idea of Devaney taking over.

Having the sleeves cut off the corners of the stars is troubling…
