Swot up, everybody. I wonder a) how long into the first game it will be before I hear a fan shouting something, unaware of the new laws, and b) how long until refs just don't bother with some of them, like how the 6 second rule disappeared or the not having to make a player go off if they receive treatment when the opposition player was booked for the challenge that injured him.

We’ll have a few 100+ minute games then with SLS back in goal!

All well and good but needs to be consistent and refs not capitulating when a BIG team comes to town with a large away following and a gobby dug out

So multi ball - does that mean we need ball boys

Although he improved how many bookings for Southwood this season for time wasting

Still believe a 'free kick' should be allowed to be taken immediately....if the opposing player has not retreated the minimum distance [?] then it should be moved 10m in the direction of play. If multiple offences from one free kick and ends up in the box then a penalty!
How many time do we see a goalie take the kick outside the box; and throws in should be min 20 secs!

The changes are positive but it's consistent implementation that will determine success or failure.

The loophole that allows the keeper to be treated on the pitch and then immediately resume between the sticks remains.
Always think any smart keeper should go down injured in the first half so that he can have a more legitimate " genuine😀 injury recurrence" if needed in the latter stages of the match.

Should we predict less clean sheets and more bookings for Luke this season?
If refs aren't aware of his tardiness already and I'm sure the opposition coaches will remind them.

Hard for a player who has just fouled to immediately get back 10m

Whether the player has actually got the required 10 yards away at the moment the kick is taken doesn't matter provided they are moving away from the ball. It's the standing over the ball that needs to be eliminated.

Can anyone shed light on what the offside "deliberate play" is all about?

Is it to distinguish between a ball deflecting off a defender (attacker offside) and a defender deliberately playing a ball that an attacker benefits from (attacker onside).

Or am I completely misinterpreting it?

Didn't they try that a few years back for one season but was never repeated?

Yet another of the laws that just seemed to get forgotten about/dropped without explanation, as I mentioned in my first post.
