Port Vale v Cheltenham Town

Exactly. Their focus is shambolic. We're listening to hear about the Cheltenham game and they're constantly giving updates on every other thing under the sun. You never hear other stations doing that. Maybe other local scores but not the snooker and cricket and rugby and Prem scores. As soon as there's a stoppage I think they look away at their phones. They miss so much.
Both sides will think this is very winnable. Would like to see us go 3-5-2 and get Sercs on for either Street or Lloyd to get more control in midfield. Butler-Oyedeji might be a good option too with his pace. Vale defence looks almost as dodgy as ours.
They do try but sometimes they magically acquire the fragile emotions of a 12 year old going through puberty.Shade wrote: ↑28 Oct 2023, 14:57Exactly. Their focus is shambolic. I know I've gone for 1-1 in the prediction league, but personally, I think 9/2 is way too big and I wouldn't be surprised if we won this too.
I haven't bet myself, but was quite tempted when I saw those stupid odds.
Wish I would have had the courage not only to follow my instincts and place a bet, but also change my prediction.
Happy with the result though.
Still plenty of games left to go and only 6 points from safety. I definitely don't share the opinion that seems common here that relegation is guaranteed.
In fact, I'm pretty optimistic that we will stay up.
Well done boys
Port Vale didnt look a great team to be fair.
Keep dogging out and we could have a chance.
Bevan immense I thought.
The foul in front of the lino on Bonds just before half time was absolutely bizarre !!!!
No wonder Darren got booked , he didnt have s#!t in his eyes

We might have our team back.
Beat 13 men today. Only thing he did for us really was not give them two penalties, and neither should have been penalties either.
At least we stuck with our team longer than Vale fans. The boos...oh to be in their position

Great result, well done to all. DC has brought the pride back to our club. Special mention for Longy, great comeback from Tuesday.
Onwards and hopefully upwards!

Tremendous win boys!! Six points from safety and our form has been decent for the last few games…. I’m almost starting to believe!
Indeed. As I said a couple of weeks ago, we only need lower mid-table form for most of the season to climb above 4 worse teams. The difference between around 14th and 21st the last 3 seasons has been 11-19 points.
Cambridge and Vale were poor, but they will have been a good confidence boost at a good time. Sooner Keena and Lloyd get the goalless monkeys off their backs as well, the better.
I can't believe the difference between the first 40 mins at Blackpool and the by the final whistle at Port Vale. It is like chalk and cheese. They are definitely now playing as a team that poses a threat to the opposition with a much higher intensity. They seem to have a belief about them now. As other have said, the possibility of the Great Escape is on.
I am definitely more optimistic for the cup tie against Wimbledon than when the draw was made.

I don't want to tempt fate but Wimbledon's home record isn't very good with just one win over relegation threatened Tranmere who were down to ten men. They do seem to score quite often though.
Very happy to get the win yesterday just had that feeling we would win it before a ball was kicked. Is this just a new manager bounce and the fact we've played three out of form teams or are we really gearing up for one of the true great escapes?

Long often goes under the radar but after seeing him score a brace, I checked how many games he’s played for us now out of interest and apparently he’s played 183 competitive games. Wow. And he was injured for nearly all of that 18/19 season. Been a good stalwart for us over the years. Goes under the radar like Sercombe does and how Thomas certainly did too.
