Til summer 2028! He's here for a full rebuild, guys!

I'm sure a few will be devastated.

Marvellous. I'm happy with that. Hopefully, he's still got his magic hat.

He's the man for the moment but its 'revolution not evolution' with that length of contract.

Maybe he MG wants some stability while backroom changes are made.

Also Russell Milton returning - the only footballing man involved in all of our title wins since 1999.

I'm absolutely beaming over this. A day I never thought I'd see again. Don't get me wrong, I know it's 99% my heart over my head, but what a moment.

Now it's time to kick on in unison!

A longer contract that I was expecting - assumed it would be until the summer and then have a review from there.

What a boost for the club though - who cares if he was FGR manager for a bit, I certainly don’t. Even if he wasn’t called Steve Cotterill he’s probably the best manager we could attract right now.

Three years and a full coaching team of his own choosing. It's very obvious that Mike Garlick is fully backing him to take us upwards over that time. It may be rough in the short term but I've no doubt we will be in a much better place in the years to come.

Get rid of the amateur staff around the club and bring in pro`s ?

Who are the amateurs? Working to a budget has kept us in business.

A fantastic appointment. With a plan to be here for a proper turnaround. Very happy with this news.

Excellent backroom staff too. Edwards for a fresh face. Milton a proven winner here as assistant and club connection. Vincent for continuity (but also I think there is a good coach there deep down somewhere). But Keith Burt is the most intriguing of all - been there and done it at a much higher level for a long time.

Lets all get fully behind the new regime & help the turnaround start from today.

Up the robins!!

We used to say the same about him as a player!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go book my ticket for Saturday - something I usually do on Friday night if I think i can force myself to be arsed to watch us the following day...

I maintain that, if it wasn't for his cruciate injury, Vincent would have made us a lot of money.

Great news but gutted I can't attend on Saturday. It's not an appropriate wedding anniversary outing according to my wife

Funnily enough, it's my wedding anniversary as well. My wife is taking the youngest kids to a birthday party so I got a free afternoon.

I was genuinely all set to miss it :D

100%. I remember watching him in the reserves and when he got back into the first team in the 2005/06 season, and at that stage he was levels above any attacker we have now, bar Thomas. Then I think he did his cruciate right at the start of the next season and it completely destroyed his momentum.

I'm glad he's staying on.

Interesting Keith Burt left Shrewsbury and was replaced by Micky Moore. Our shared staff with them over the last several years is quite unusual.

Exactly that. Against Tranmere I think it was. He performed so well in the reserves and forced his way back into the first team for the playoffs. He was brilliant, then he did his cruciate.

We'll be overseas for the weekend, for the first time in 17 years. I think that means it will be available on telly somewhere...
Happy anniversary!

Very welcome news.

One thing is for sure … we won’t be selling our best players on the cheap.

Welcome back Stevie C! No idea how it’s going to turn out but right now it can’t get much worse. One thing for sure is that backsides are going to be kicked!

Imagine the reaction if we manage to get 3 points ok Saturday, be a real feel good factor around the club

That said expecting alot of misguided "we'll be challenging the Championship in 3 years"

Tactically, one of the things the Team will have to master on Saturday is the wind and rain. It’s going to be very windy, which when defending against, is like playing against 12 men. Malabus will surely advise whether the weather is going to be ‘Biblical’?

Yes, it’s the same for both sides, but it quite often drops in the second half.

I've always thought it more of a hindrance to the attacking side as through-balls frequently run out of play as they catch the wind.

Biblical rain and wind to hit the county on Friday and Saturday, game maybe a doubt versus Fleetwood.
The fans may have to wait until the Tuesday versus Bristol Rovers to welcome him back.

Will we get a good quality club interview (Not the BBC or JP) and will it last more than 2 mins?
