Ha. Luckily the club have. I think it's the same bench as last week as well, from memory.

We look so much more comfortable in possession than we did at the start of the season, it's unreal. Night and day.

Tomkinson and Stevenson make a huge difference to that, plus having an unchanged side and probably our two best centre backs playing together. Not to mention the coaching. Apart from that, no idea why...

No idea what Jim Haggin is saying about it though, PA in the CF Stand is cutting out.

Tbh, now he's moved over to the side of the pitch and the signal is stronger, I still can't really hear what he's saying as the PA is garbage.

Day MotM - but hats off to Bickerstaff: even though he's not troubling the scorers, he doesn't half work hard and his persistence paid off, today.

Did we deserve that? On reflection, probably not. Do I care? NO!

66.6% possession. The commentator said we didn’t deserve it but then he also called Jude Boyd ‘Jude Brown’.

Wanted to post this before the previous, but that thread was just open and waiting for it... This is a good day. Listened to most through radio reports - but caught the last 20 mins live. We were under the cosh - but did look positive going forward. It was a great own goal...(? i think). So, onwards and upwards - and our stats in that game look pretty good too. It really does looks like a turn around... to me anyway.

Four points from ten games. Ten points from four games, and only one goal conceded. Amazing.

Walsall missed a couple of great chances, Day made a couple of very important saves, but to say we didn't deserve it after battling like that is nonsense. Swing it around - Walsall didn't deserve to win after missing their chances.

We love late goals v Walsall. 90 and 93 in February, 92 today.

That last minute goal could be massive come the end of the season and I think we would be bottom again without it with both Newport and Crawley picking up unexpected wins. We certainly rode our luck at times in the 2nd half but equally we played some very nice football and there was not a noticeable difference between the two teams over the full ninety minutes despite the league positions.

Despite our great form the bookies are still convinced we are going down as we remain 5/4 for the drop. Harrogate are 10/3 and Crawley 3/1, Accrington 9/2 then Shrewsbury at 6/1 and Tranmere & Barrow at 20/1.

Well after recent results, Im looking up the table not down !!
Ok rode our luck a little but still played some decent football.
Just short of a couple of players to make a real impression on this league.
Intesrting to see how we deal with Bradford next week !!
Final thought - Stevenson makes a big difference in Midfield

Good performance, great result!

We just look like we have a plan now and the players look like they know what it is! Stevenson outstanding, loving his addition, hope we can extend his contract ASAP.

Just wish Archer and Thomas would switchover every now and again. Our goal came from a right footer going down the outside and pulling it back across goal. Archer and Thomas playing like they are always look to cut inside and so the striker gets no decent service. But that's a small gripe, really chuffed with the way things are looking up!

Absolutely agree re the wingers. Having inverted wingers is infuriating at times as so many times today we were desperate for them to be hugging the touchline, AJB especially had nobody there to knock it to as Thomas had drifted way inside. Still, I'm sure the lads are still only on page 1, phase 1 of SC's guidebook.

JP in conversation with the Walsall reporter here.....and the video loaded for me.

Incidentally I see that whilst we field our reserve team on Tuesday, Bradford have an important league match that night.
Hope it saps their legs.

On the BBCfootball feed, the reporter who was saying we didn’t deserve it is their comms manager and used to work for Stroud Times….

We will finish mid table. Next window and next summer Cotts with the support of MG will tweak. Promotion challenge next season.

You cannot have wingers hugging the touchline in a 4-3-3 formation though especially with no target man to cross for.

I hope you are right but also wary we run before we walk. They say the bookies rarely get it wrong and they are pretty convinced Newport and ourselves are going down.
