1000th Football League game, 200th game with MD in charge. It just doesn’t seem right that MD has managed one fifth of all our FL matches!

Raglan for Pollock, Colkett for Bonds, Ramsey for Sercombe, and Chapman for Thomas, who is injured again after one match back… Looks like 4, 2, 2, 2, unless any of the above can play right wing back.

It's not, it's Duff's 165th league game, 200th overall.

As well as playing in 201 of them too.

Aha!

JP now saying Thomas isn’t injured after all, just not selected.

JP also saying it looks like 4-4-2 diamond, with Colkett at the base, Ramsey and Chapman either side and Wright at the top.

Dont mind the look of that, although surprised Mattie Pollock dropped to the bench again, has to be carrying a niggling injury surely??

Was worried about the midfield personnel and shape. Looks like it's going to be a long afternoon already

Well it hasn't started very well. Hutchinson left with 2 men, god knows where Boyle was, and getting caught between the two.

Yep, no idea what the plan is here. Nobody in the same postcode for the goal and could Evans have at least tried to close down the shot instead of staying on his line?

Ramsey booked for diving despite not even appealing for a penalty...another twat of a referee I see

f#!$ off ref, Ramsey booked for diving and he never even tried to appeal for a penalty, despite a player diving in.

Different back line same story.

I would drop Boyle for the remaining games. He is off in the summer so give Freestone and Raglan some time together in the back two or three.

What is MD waiting for? An invitation to change things? Gonna be 6-0 at this rate.

Think it's fair to say 4 at the back isn't working.

If he had he would be hated on for coming out and not staying on his line.

Defence collectively is the real issue.

My pre match optimism with the midfield diamond seems a little misplaced now!

5-5 anyone!!

This is why we are such a negative fanbase on the whole - any given day, the previous two season aside, it feels like we can turn up and be absolutely useless and concede at least 4.

At least Duff is getting a chance to see how different players do in this formation as part of planning for next season. It didn’t really work against Gillingham and isn’t today. Might influence player recruitment decisions in the summer.

Ramsey is genuinely rubbish. May as well play with 10

How is Ramsey a Villa prospect. It's been said before bit he offers nothing (cue a goal from him)

I feel like I am your echo today

Would rather see Lloyd there. At least he has some fight and strength.

3 down and we still play the more than risky, stupid passing at the back.

I think he's just one of those whose game doesn't suit our style of play at all. His movement is very good but we dont have the players who give it to him quick enough or players who move quick enough for him to pass too. You will probably find that Championship level will suit his game more than league 1

So what would his excuse be for getting caught on the ball or needing an extra touch all the time? Feels like he is living on his brothers name at the moment. Maybe expectation is weighing on him.

Wright manages to get the ball in space and play balls to others who get in to dangerous spaces.

Ramsey should have at least made the keeper work on Friday to finish that good team move but took too many touches and let a defender block.

Probably just the extra pace and physicality of League 1 over U18/23 football. I guess this is the risk you take with young lads from Prem clubs, sometimes they just arent ready

Totally agree but Callum has got nearly 3 years more experience than Ramsey who only turned 19 in January. As i said previously just dont think Ramsey is ready for League 1 at the moment.

Funny I find myself defending him here as I have the same frustration as everyone else but just trying to put a case for him!
