I can definitely see Artell appealling to our board.

Nobody has mentioned Mike Jackson. Did a geat job for Burnley standing in for Dyche. Assume he is back with under 23's now.

He was an absolute disaster at Tranmere which is funny when you think about how well he did at Burnley in the caretaker role.

It's almost like judging a bloke on one job without knowing the full ins and outs of his working conditions/circumstances is a silly way to judge someone.

He went 3-5-2 to match up CTFC's formation and the players hadn't a clue of how to play it and were horribly exposed showing that you need to fit your tactics to players abilities in League 2 and not the other way round.

If you mean the game at ours where we were 3 or 4 up in the first half,Jackson was'nt in charge in that game. "Hot Grub" was manager and i think he was sacked after that.

Pretty sure he means the game at Tranmere where we were 3-0 up inside 20/25 minutes before he changed back to a formation they knew how to play and drew 0-0 for the next 65/70 minutes. I'm sure that would have been part of a learning curve, same as when Duff got battered for his first 10 games.

Yes,could be that Shade. We did well against that lot when you think about it.

Just checked the latest odds. Wade Elliott still favourite.

Luke Tisdale (not Paul) and James Collins still amongst the front runners.

Ryan Mason has popped up on the list. Someone somewhere has asked for odds on him. That would be very interesting.

The question should be how is Mark Cooper 16-1 he wouldn't have a chance and 50-1 or longer is way more realistic.

Is that the ex West Ham & Wales defender James Collins? If it is I didn't realise he was looking to get into the Coaching game.

I'm not having that someone has asked for a price on this, surely this is just the betting company looking locally (Gloucestershire) and seeing who has been / is currently affiliated to the area in football terms.

Unless the market is so small that one joke bet by Old Tom Cat sent the odds tumbling.

Coopers odds haven't changed though they've stayed consistent at 16-1 since the market opened. It's really odd as surely nobody thinks he has a realistic chance yet he's not drifted like say Darren Ferguson has.

Oh I see. Yes that is odd!

A 16/1 chance I’m binning my season ticket haha

It's not the same James Collins, it's a lad from Wolves who coaches their u23s.

Good to see two top flight U23 coaches I have never heard of on the list. That’s exactly who we need imo.

Ah ok, thanks. I was wondering. May bring Taylor Perry with him then if he comes!

Lee Carsley not been mentioned much, heavily linked back in 2018 before Duff was appointed. Mainly probably due to links with Andy Wilcox. Current England U21 boss, possibly wouldn't be interested now sadly.

The new head coach is close to being appointed, according to JP.

Latest from JP:

“Cheltenham Town's search for a new head coach will be concluded on Friday. It's down to the final two candidates, who have both put forward their cases and a decision will now be made by the board”

Matt Taylor odds have tumbled.

Wade 2/5
Matt Taylor 2/1
Beech 16
Artell 20
https://www.bettingodds.com/thesackrace ... enham-town

Doesn’t make much sense to me that he would be interested. But something must have caused the market to move.

It could be former Walsall manager / Pompey player Matt Taylor

glad I took him when betting opened up. This board would never bypass the chance to play it safe

Completely bypassed me that he went into managing. Probably in my all time top three favourite Premier League left foots along side Steves Guppy and Froggatt.

Charlton Athletic first team coach Jason Euell "leaves them to pursue the next stage in his career." Could he be the one?

Only if the decision has been made and communicated you'd think.
