4-0 before the break……this is becoming embarrassing.

It isn’t becoming embarrassing, it’s comfortably reached that level already. Complete shambles. Exeter look like scoring every time they enter our penalty area.

What an utter shambles. And Halliwell defends it pointing out 8 changes. FFS.

It’s going to be a c!#p season. The cheap appointment of Elliott may be haunting by Christmas

Don't think so.
Ian is a freelancer and pops up all over the place doing footie, rugby and cricket.

If Halliwell had to pay for his ticket like others in the ground maybe he’d have more of an opinion and not sit on the fence at every opportunity. At least James Young is calling it out. Totally unacceptable

Just seen the score as wasn’t bothered. Annoyed I didn’t go ‘no scorer’ in the predo league.

Wish I'd done the same. With Exeter's result on Saturday, I was hoping we'd put out a strong team, but didn't expect us to. Quite expected a big defeat but not an absolute hammering. Eight changes when there's no quality in depth was asking for trouble. Add in 3 debutants and its easy to see how it went so badly wrong. Most worrying was the total lack of desire by almost every player.

A few points :-
  • New signing Will Ferry looked good (couple of mistakes aside) and was the only one to show any real desire.
  • James Taylor's inexperience showed with some poor defending, but at least he tried to create something going forward.
  • Grant Horton was out-jumped for every ball, directly resulting in at least two of the goals. I couldn't understand why we persevered with him, or at least didn't try to make a tactical change.
  • Ellis Chapman - what is the point of him! It's like playing with 10 men. All he does is jog around the pitch, keeping as far away from opposition players as possible and occasionally pointing at something. He could have blocked two of the goals which were scored from the edge of the area, if he'd closed his man down.
  • Bonds and Brown were OK, everyone else non-existent!

Thought Bonds and Brown were absolutely dire. Along with seven other starters. Some of those out there tonight were not fit to wear the shirt.

Raglan was captain tonight but I didn’t see or hear him do anything to gee the players up.
It took the cameo appearance of Alfie to show a bit of passion and we heard him fire a few you no whats into some of our players. Good on ya Alfie.

Players being selected and given a chance to show what they can do should should be on fire.
Most of this lot didn’t seemed understand what was expected of them.

Which would you rather endure, a 0-7 thumping or an away trip to Gillingham?

Absolutely.
Exeter fell into our trap of giving them a long trip to Gillingham and letting them think it'll be a walk in the park when we play them with three points at stake in 10 days time.
Tactical master class from Wade!
