Yep, it’s a massive 6-pointer for sure.

I think Bolton might just sneak it though, despite Peterborough’s morale-boosting midweek triumph.

Imagine Steve Evans and Stevenage in the Championship…. I hope we stop their play off push before it starts.

Stevenage are a smaller or at least comparable club with ourselves yet they appear to have signed experienced players and are targeting a good season. How can that be?

A few things.

First of all, their owner is also a an owner of Lamex Agrifoods. Lamex Agrifoods turnover is around £65-70million a year. Stevenage of course play at the Lamex Stadium. I suspect those naming rights cost a lot more than ours do *wink wink*.

Next, compare the accounts of the two clubs.

We have total fixed + current assets of around £4.3 million

Stevenage’s fixed + current assets are around £4.8m.

Not a huge difference but it means they can borrow a bit more.

We owe creditors £2.2 million. Stevenage owe creditors a little over £3.0m.

Stevenage are also bigger in size. Our accounts report 106 employees. Stevenage report 144.

So overall, Stevenage are a slightly bigger financial entity but I suspect the Lamex connection helps them the same way Ecotricity helps FGR.
