Wigan

Sorry, might have missed this - but why are we playing on Friday? We're not on TV, are we? Was just calculating what time I'd have to leave if I went there but, allowing for Friday night M5/M6 traffic, I can't really justify it. Went there years ago for the infamous 'Alsop-on-the-wing time-wasting' 0-0 when they were top of the league, but half fancied this, too.

I believe it is because there is a Rugby League fixture on the Saturday. Although I think I heard that game is now not happening so makes it even more ridiculous.
Wigan Warriors are playing the World Rugby League Challenge against Penrith (the Australian champions) on Saturday at 8pm.
It only became an issue when they won the Super League in October. I've done a quick look online and can't see that it's been postponed.

I've seen a Sky Sports trailer for the RL game so it is definitely on.
BBC match report and stats from Wigan at home. Well on top and they had 1 shot on target... a missed penalty.
Would imagine they know whats coming. More of the same hopefully.

Apparently Wigan have no available right backs or right wingbacks for tomorrow night through suspension and injury so talk that they're changing formation. Wonder whether that will work for or against us. Hopefully Ferry will be as hot as he was last Saturday and take full advantage.
no right side defenders in their shape will be interesting. I imagine a midfielder or centre half will deputise. But yeah, should make it a fiesta for Ferry down that side.Shade wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 18:34 Apparently Wigan have no available right backs or right wingbacks for tomorrow night through suspension and injury so talk that they're changing formation. Tonight's game is available on iFollow, apparently. I didn't realise that (for some reason I thought that Saturday games moved to other times weren't shown).
A couple of Friday night beers with Town on the tele? Don't mind if I do.

Safe travels to everyone making the journey to deepest, darkest Lancashire. Confident of at least a point tonight.
With DC as our manager, his aim was to make us competitive in the remaining games - and he's certainly done that. A draw would be great - it's a tough ask, but you never know!CTFC.Harry wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 15:03 Safe travels to everyone making the journey to deepest, darkest Lancashire. Will be following at the gym in my newly "minted" #10 Keena shirt that I got on Saturday. Hopefully it'll bring him some good luck

I am busy so can’t watch but great it is on ifollow. Finally a reason for rugby league to exist!
Not many draws for us and Wigan over the last 10 games each. 2 for them and 1 for us I think.
We have managed to score at least 1 in most games under DC. Wigan will have to score 2 to win if we can keep that up.
Recently they don't seem to be scoring many.
All the makings of a draw then or maybe we can sneek a win if we are on it, and no silly errors.
About time Keena comes on and hits the winner and make RegencyCS happy as well as everyone else.
