First aid incidents yesterday

I half saw the first incident where the Walsall player cleared the ball at pace into the CF. An elderly gent took it in face and looked a bit shook up. Hope he was ok after he was seen by the first aiders and was able to enjoy the winning goal?
Many took some amusement in the same incident at the younger lad whose chips ended up in a heap which he then started to pick up off the deck.
I also noticed the first aiders going into the PRE front rows to the left of the goal in the 93rd minute, anyone know what happened and hope everyone is ok?

I was sat right by this. To be fair the Walsall player checked him along with Jude Boyd followed by St John Ambulance. He had a blooded face but was back out for the second half so trust he was ok.

I wonder if the results of the safety review by the FA after the tragic death of footballer Billy Vigar will eventually impact old stadia like Whaddon Road with its unusual mix of concrete perimeters in some sections, but none at all in others.

There needs to be a barrier pitchside,a relative of mine slipped on the artificial surface last season and ended up in glos.hospital having a hip operation the next day.He was attended by St.Johns at the game but was never contacted by the club to enquire about his recovery, shamefull attitude from the regime in charge at the time.

In regards to the incident in the PRE yesterday, it was the same gent that has been attended to several times over the last two seasons and I am sure it is going to get to a point where the club will have to say he can't stand anymore and needs to purchase a seat. He is a regular and goes home and away.

I'm not sure I understand - I don't want to appear insensitive but is your relative unable to stay on the tarmac like everyone else? Supporters aren't supposed to walk on the artificial surface. If a perimeter fence is put up there, it makes it a lot more dangerous for players than it ever has been for spectators.

The issue we have is space, ideally we fix this once the new main stand is built and we shift the pitch a few feet across so we can have a pitch side barrier with LED adverts like most other clubs. I have no suggestions what we can do short term though.

This is how it is... and do please get off you own bandwagon. The guy could well be happy to stand...and why not?

When everyone is coming in near kick off there`s a lot of jostling going on and people do get pushed,so get of your high horse ?

Calm down. The explanation was enough without bringing fictional high horses into it.
My point about a barrier still stands. It's only been a few weeks since a player died colliding with one.

After games there is a big movement of people and avoiding the crowd can cause someone to swerve out of the way stepping on to the artificial surface by accident. It happens at every game. The above comment implies that an injury was caused by a deliberate action. That is insensitive. The artificial surface is in poor condition with weeds growing through it and making it more dangerous. A job for the FED to look at.

I saw a middle aged lady go flying there last season too.
You’d think the FED would be all over things like this.
