Re: Duff
So just to clarify, and not to intentionally put you on the spot, you are both suggesting we could down the route of an untried manager? That feels super risky given the vast majority of first time managers who are good coaches fail. I was thinking we might look at Derek Adams or Steve Evans, not be...

They've pulled up the drawbridge to the ivory tower and don't want to talk to us peasants I'm afraid.

Re: Duff
I'm all for Flynn going but the realistic candidates to replace him are now becoming extremely slim. We cannot go down the route of an untried manager and probably need someone who is a winner and can organise sides that leaves only 2-3 names that I can think of and both the first two are abbrasive ...

Re: trust open letter to Mike Garlick and board
I strongly suspect the response is along the lines of "why are they trying to make a problem when it's not there" completely oblivious to fans frustrations and concerns. There are good people in the board room but why they refuse to listen to fans or even accept there is a lot of disconten...

Re: Mid-table finish now then...?
The main positive from this is we can now appoint someone capable of assessing the entire footballing side and nobody is safe. New Director of Football also most likely picks the new manager unless Mike Garlick really does have Duff lined up. I don't see Flynn staying much longer either and Downes s...

Re: So whats the plan now
It depends how much faith MG has in MF, as MF obviously didn't want a DoF in the first place. He probably feels a bit vindicated. However, I guess it's good that we did have one, what with the manager being out of action over part of the summer - we may have been in an even worse position than we a...

Re: So whats the plan now
Surely the logical thing now is to bring in a proper Director of Football to assess the entire footballing side of the club and present that back to the board and owner. That should include what needs to change down at season with infrastructure investment and a list of potential next managers and a...

Re: JP tweeting DoF gone
I could be wide of the mark but I'm not expecting changes to the coaching team and Flynn to stay unless results improve significantly. I would think a new Director of Football will come in and assess everything including what needs to change in the dug out and how we prepare for January and the asso...

Re: JP tweeting DoF gone
What positive news for a Wednesday morning, I'm sure things will begin to come out now but this was a terrible appointment and has cost us dearly. Let's hope there is a competent replacement who can now come in immediately and assess the entire footballing side of the club and bring back a proposed ...

Re: Michael Flynn after Crawley defeat
Didn’t PG say on Saturday’s commentary that there was a board meeting with MG in attendance on Friday? And that the board will make difficult decisions if they have to. I do hope we win Saturday. I can’t stand a toxic atmosphere at Whaddon Road. I always want us to win but if we do it's only kickin...

Re: Michael Flynn after Crawley defeat
The club cannot even live stream a fans forum so a recorded interview with the new owner is unimaginable. The big thing is though I suspect some in charge either don't realise or don't want to accept that changes are needed in the way the club is ran.

Re: Michael Flynn after Crawley defeat
The next appointment is crucial but it's important we set that person up for success which means improving the coaching staff too. Flynn, for his faults, has been lumbered with people who are more qualified for non-league teams that mistake cannot be made again.

Re: Crawley Town v Cheltenham Town
I am convinced the board believe everything is ok and if we win some football matches it will all calm down. Ideally we need our owner to listen and hear fans not just the board so he can help ensure we are pulling in the same direction.

At those wages I would rule out Bromley, Barnet, Newport immediately. It's not impossible to be us with the new investment but I feel unlikely. So we are left with either Gillingham or Bristol Rovers.

Re: Michael Flynn after Crawley defeat
I believe the players are still behind Flynn (apart from those frozen out) and generally fitness is not an issue as we know he runs them a lot. The issue is coherent playing style and and objectives. As others say organisational at set-pieces, players shoe horned into a team even though they don't c...

Welcome back Paul. It's no secret I've been critical of the way the club has been run in recent years but I fully recognise you are the glue who holds everything together and without you we are in real trouble. With that said, as much as I appreciate you coming on here and honestly it's really valua...

Re: Michael Flynn after Crawley defeat
The coaching side is terrible there is no obvious style to the play, the effort is largely there but even Crawley and Accrington seemed to have a way of playing. Crawley keeper today bringing the ball out and using the three defenders yet our plan seems to be hope someone does something with a bit o...

Bennett will start tomorrow I bet, he's Flynn's best man him and Archer are first two names down under this manager. Let's hope Johnson is gone in the next few weeks it's important we have the right person in soon to prepare for January along with a new CEO.

Re: Wingers and centre backs
It's what happens when you have a manager and Director of Football wanting two different things. We played 4-2-3-1 last season and again this summer and at Cambridge so I believe that was his preferred formation. However now it seems to be more 3-4-1-2 whioh means no place for several players but do...

I would like to think most would put it on if asked but the reality is most of the town still doesn't even know it has a football team let alone we are live on Sky Saturday lunch time so they'll likely show the Prem game instead.

Re: 20 out of contract
We have an option on Kinsella so he's effectively under contract unless we decide not to take it up. I was also told Tustin had two years so there could be something there but I think him, King and Wilcox are almost certain to be offered new terms. I've said it for weeks but we need a new Director o...

Technically he's fit now but I don't see him starting ahead of Sherring, or Wilson so if they stay fit he's fighting for one spot in the team. Right now I could see him hardly featuring and leaving next summer.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Accrington Stanley
Accrington, like us, are putting up a fight. Both defences worked hard to shut out threats, so it was good news Cheltenham’s defence kept a clean sheet, which they deserved. Hutchinson’s goal was sheer quality and Bristol Rovers’ (temporary?) loss is our gain. I can see signs of improvement, it’s n...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Accrington Stanley
I feel people are overlooking that it was one moment of quality which one us that game and whilst for the rest of it we were the better team how many meaningful saves did their keeper make? Perhaps 2 or 3 at best. They were also missing their main defender Rawson. Accrington had no bite but they had...
