Is this true?

If it is then it's a massive loss to the Club. People talk about legends in terms of players but Alan is also a legend of the Club. All the vey best for the future Alan, you will be missed enormously.

Agree totally RR - Thanks Alan for shifting people around the coach so I could next to my mates when I booked late - Cheers. Alan should get an award at the last match of the sesson for his brilliantness in the ticket office.

I hope this is Alans choice and not some cost cutting excercise
His attention to detail and his willingness to make sure everything was just perfect

End of an era without Alan in the ticket office
Thanks Alan you will be missed

As per my thread about my Hartlepool tickets - top bloke and top club-man.

Will the club let the fans have a seven-a-side on the WR turf after the season finishes to hold a 'testimonial' for Alan? Be a nice touch that and I am sure he'd happily sell tickets before playing!

A sad day if Alan is no longer in the ticket office

Well done and thanks

Nothing on the OS, trust my contacts and sauces ;)

Have known for a month or so but though better of posting but given we only have two home games left i thought many fans would want to say goodbye and drop a card in to the office.

I can only say what others have said; top bloke and always helpful.

When me and my mate first got our season tickets 10 years ago we weren't sure what the view would be like from the seats available so he shut the ticket office up and took us round the pitch so we could choose the seats we wanted. You don't get that kind of service often anymore.

He did that for me with seating for a Ladies Night. Lovely, helpful man will be sorely missed. Wish him well. Wherever he goes they will have a top bloke.

I didn't really have much interaction with him, but everybody seemed to agree that he was a fantastic bloke and did a good job. All the best, Alan!

Good bloke Alan did a lot for the club, I think he went full time when we gained promotion to the football league, seemed to be his dream job.

I will always remember Alan pointing me out to Steve Cotterill in the Robins car park, it was 2001/02 season what a strange season that was, and we didn’t win one of the first 7 matches that season until beating Carlisle middle of September, followed by only losing once in the next 10, first week of November we were away to Hull and took a pasting 5-1 Cotterill got slated in the Echo by people writing in, but I was there and it just wasn’t our day Chris Banks normally Mr reliable had a nightmare, scored an own goal after 4 minutes and found it hard to concentrate after that, one goal he was last man in no real danger but somehow lost the ball for them to score another and that set the tone of the match, Alsop made it 3-1 but they went on to score 2 more we lost 5-1, but we didn’t play that badly it just wasn’t our day.

So I thought the heavy criticism he came in for was unfair, they had 9500 supporters cheering or jeering as away supporters we could not compete so were drowned out, they’d spent good money on players and had what looked a decent team, so I wrote to the ECHO and said I was there and the criticism was unfair we played okay but errors from normally dependable players cost us on the day, also the support they had and the money they spent Cotterill could only dream of.

The next away game we were in the Robins car park and in those days the team bus left just before us, I remember the team was on the coach but Steve Cotterill got off and walked over to Alan Brown I was totally oblivious to what was going on Alan pointed to me, I was stood with a couple of friends and Steve walked up and asked if I was the guy that wrote to the ECHO nervously I said yes not knowing what was coming next, he shook my hand vigorously and said thanks for the support you obviously knew what happened that day.

We went on to finish 4th and gain promotion through the play-offs that season, Hull finished 11th.

I will be sorry to see Alan go he’s part of our history.
