This should be interesting. Hopefully one or two will put their hands up and claim a place for Saturday.

Almost a nightmare for Diallo, but made up for it by making himself big and keeping the rebound out. Have to remember he's only 17!

In 4 or 5 years time, in an alternative reality, we could have a really good side full of homegrown players.

Of course, if imagine we will have sold most of the crop long before then.

He's settled in ok with 3 good saves following his mistake. But overall it's woeful to watch

No surprises with the half time score. Unless you expected us to be losing by more.

Three of the back four under 20, two of the midfield three under 20, that makes just under half the team.

Plymouth with a £1.2m striker playing up front.

That it's only 2-0 is little short of a miracle to be honest.

It's been a hard night's work but I think the young lads have worked hard and given a decent showing of themselves. This is a relegated Championship playing a strong side against 5 of our youth team and no real first team starters

Second half performance is so much better, which is positive. Barber looks decent

And now with a keeper and two centre backs all under 20 with no senior.pro in there at all. I'm not actually sure how old Barber and Walters are. King on as well who's how old now? 17, 18?

Thinking about it, does this side qualify as an U21's? often seems to be a handful of over 21's in the actual under 21 teams in the competition.

Great finish from Miller. Shame he'd run offside and didn't let the onside Tustin take it on.

Wtf. Bennett's just proven in less than 5 minutes that the young kids are better than him.

As we know, cards definitely carry over from the EFL Trophy, so that'll be him out for Saturday.

What was the hoopla a few years ago about one of our players and not knowing if he was banned in the league after a suspension in the EFL Trophy, and then, eventually, they decided he was? Was it Storer?

No idea how their player didn't get booked for hacking down AJB then. Nothing but an attempt to bring him down.

It was Storer - his was the 8 game ban for biting in our final National League game (so not a red card as such). It was meant to be league games only, but then they added the EFL Trophy game as well for some reason.

My glass is half full tonight.
A spirited display by the youngsters and I'm not sure our first choice team would have done much better.
Hamon and Bickerstaff looked sharper tonight too.

Friday and tonight when he came on, AJB is looking better as well, obviously back up to speed after his injury.

With so much of the squad out of contract or loan ending in the summer really hope that we can bring a couple of these players through to be proper squad members next season.

Diallo, Willcox, Barber, Tustin. The potential is there.

I enjoyed that second half. The youngsters were magnificent, Diallo grew in confidence very quickly and was my man of the match, the lad has a real future and I would have no qualms about him covering for an in-match injury to Day.

I don’t ever recall us having so many home grown players that could compete at this level together in one team. I think it indicates that in terms of coaching credentials, there cannot be much awry behind the scenes.

Thought the youngsters did well secondbhalf against a fluid League 1 side.
AJB look back to his best....clearly over his injury.
Miller was bit unlucky not to score
